Re: Pirates

Hurrah for Worm Style Games. What I don't get though, is why Shawn's worms style game got a 10, and this game got a 5.5? They're the same idea, only this one has a theme... Look's like someone has some fanboys. O:

So because they are the same idea they should get the same score? hmm

I just tried that pirate game.

First, it took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to begin the game.  After that, I stopped playing after a few seconds because it wasn't any fun.  Not only is the presentation terrible, it's just not a fun game.

Territory War.  Excellent presentation, excellent game play, and loads of features.  That's what separates games with "the same idea".  I'd go as far as saying Territory War is one of the most popular Flash games of all time.

I'm not really sure how you can even compare this Pirtates game and Territory War, and I'm being 100% honest.

Games shouldn't be rated on the idea, rather the idea and execution.

Re: Pirates

Well, this is simply an inherent issue that you'll have with different editors writing different reviews. It's hard to think of any of my games deserving a ten.. but at the same time (like mentioned) you can't expect two games to have similar scores because they're in the same category. No disrespect meant to the author of pirates, but I do think that territory war is a better game. How much of a better game though is purely subjective.

Definitely! I'd rather watch a good quality movie or play a good quality game that holds my interest and makes me addicted to it rather than watching/playing something that doesn't make sense or isn't appealing because of bad art or things just weren't thought out well enough.

Re: Pirates

Point taken... I guess it was kinda hard to start if off. I guess it just appealed to me because I love pirates... But totally Shawn, you have much better features. And the background images are pretty sweet, I have to admit.
