Skeleton Park

For starters, Skeleton Park is targeted as a ‘family’ game, so it’s hard to rate harshly. Not that it’s an overly bad game, but for the programming that was done to create it in the first place they easily could have added some extra variety.
You play as Frank the monster, who is most certainly not a Frankenstein rip-off. Your skeleton buddy, who is unnamed, has lost all of his bones to the evil dogs of skeleton park. You’ll control Frank in an awkward three-quarter view with the arrow keys as you run around the park and collect the bones. Since the view is tilted, and you can only move left and right, getting used to the controls takes a minute. The game has five levels but each level is exactly the same. Collect ten bones and avoid the dogs. The only change is that the dogs get slightly faster/better at following you. Most of the time you can just shake them off with a couple quick maneuvers but not always. When I died it was usually because in my rush to change direction I forgot which arrow key turned to which direction.
Graphics are cute and pixelated, but the actual stage is pretty bare. It’s just a big green texture surrounded by black. No backgrounds, and no variety in the ‘park.’ Each level looks exactly the same too. Like I said, any number of things could have been done to change it up a little. Modify the level shape, add some holes or obstacles or something, I don’t know. Maybe a time attack mode for those who really like the game? Oh well. Skeleton Park is nothing more than plain. Fun for the whole family I guess.
