One mega disaster |

Mega Jump by Ultimate Arcade has the feel to it like the initial graphics were all done, and the gameplay had to be created within 15 minutes.
The idea of the game is that you catapult a frog into the air trying to get him to travel as far as possible. To launch the frog, you hold your mouse button down which charges a power meter, and when you release, the frog is launched. Sadly, that’s pretty much it. There are no obstacles, no powerups, and close to no variants. After the initial launch, you see the exact same little cut sequence that is identical after every launch, which then transitions into about 5-10 seconds of the frog bouncing in the snow. The only other variable that the game states is present is a wind compass, and you are supposed to try to launch the frog when it points east. Either way, after the first few launches, the cut scene gets unbelievably repetitive along with the end result of the frog bouncing a few times. The powerbar is almost pointless considering the fact that even to get the frog launched you need to have the power filled about half way. To top it off, the scores seemed close to random because with no obstacles, it’s almost impossible to tell what factors lead to your score.
The graphics that are actually present in the game are pretty good, but the lack of them quickly overshadows that. The graphics are pretty cool because they have a 3-D feel to them and are pretty well done. The only actual graphics in the game are the launcher, the frog, and the continually repeating background. The sound in the game is decent, and the music is fits it pretty well.
The bottom line is that the game is poor because of the overly simplistic gameplay. Any addition of obstacles, powerups, different characters, really anything, would have made the game loads better. Why none of those were included is a mystery to me, because with the neat graphics the game could have been pretty cool.

Yeah it really does suck. There isn't even very much "game" to it.
